What records and documents will my collection attorney need?
You must know who your debtor is. If it is a business, what kind of legal entity is it?
It may be a corporation or a partnership or a sole proprietorship. Is the debt guaranteed
by another person or business? If so, you will have to have specific information on that person or business as well.
Written documents describing the type and amount of the debt are critical.
Copies of promissory notes, contracts, security agreements, or applications
combined with the terms of the account are also important. We may request originals in some cases.
Your billing and payment records are essential.
Documentation of in-house collection efforts, including collector's notes,
letters, faxes or e-mails should be forwarded to assist us in collecting the account.
