Litigation is the most effective weapon a collection attorney has at his disposal. Failure of a debtor to respond to an attorney has very real consequences. Even unsophisticated debtors know the seriousness of contact by an attorney.

Our law firm has computerized many of the necessary pleadings in both state and federal Louisiana courts, making all phases of the litigation process more cost-effective for clients. We service all of Louisiana and file lawsuits in city, parish, state and federal courts which best meet the jurisdictional and venue requirements of the case.

Experience shows few cases are contested and inevitably lead to judgment or settlement. We agressively follow-up judgments with debtor examinations, garnishments and seizures. We also domesticate or make executory those judgments rendered in another state.

We have assisted clients in collecting funds from the estates of deceased debtors, insurance companies, tortfeasors, and third parties who have guaranteed payment. We provide litigation services either on an hourly fee or contingency fee basis, depending on the nature of the matter. We can also mediate disputed claims or represent clients in arbitration proceedings.

We also have the ability to forward accounts and judgments obtained in Louisiana to attorneys in other states due to our charter membership in the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA). NARCA is a trade organization of collection attorneys concentrating in debt collection.
